Day 22: We're Beginning to See The Light

On Saturday & Sunday while the kids and I were at the Native American Pow Wow, Michael and Roger spent an hour with our electrician going over a plan of attack. Before I knew it, there were wires coming out of the walls for light switches and rectangular openings where outlets would be. For those of you who have these modern luxuries, please remember how lucky you are! :O) As some of you might remember, the house was wired in a most unconventional way and still had the original knob and tube wiring. Here are some pictures from this past weekend.

Sorry this was a bit blurry, but I think you can see the original wiring to the left and a modern attempt (note: attempt) at installing new wiring.


Here is where two outlets will go in the upstairs landing and Yummers' room.


Yes, we had to pull on this chain to get light in the room. (YUCK!)
